Yes!! "True Nihilist", the long awaited new 7" from The Hope Conspiracy is finally here and just as I expected it's the most intense record of the year. I somehow didn't get into The Hope Con until the release of their epic LP "Death Knows Your Name" but I'll tell you, as soon as the intro of "They Know Not" started spinning I was absolutely blown away.
It's been a while since then, but the best band in Boston is finally back with a new 7". "True Nihilist" picks up where "Death Knows Your Name" left off. It's got that same fierce, dynamic sound that the last LP did, but personally I find this one to be even harder (if that's even possible). I was thinking about it today and I can't really come up with any other band that sound this rough and still manage to make music this epic. If you like furious hardcore then this 7" is 2009's must-have record.
There's something truly genuine about this band that I can't really put my finger on, and when it comes down to heavy music I wouldn't hesitate a second to call The Hope Conspiracy the best band in the world. "True Nihilist" proves me right.
