FRONTKICK | "THE NEW BEGINNING" 7" Vinyl | A part of the Wanda Records Single Club Release: 2008 by: Wanda Records Review: Jan. 9th, 2009 |
|
After three albums, a bunch of singles and loads of touring Berlin's finest returns with a brand new single. Frontkick's been a favorite of mine for years and I'm always looking forward to see what the guys are up to.
Just as I was expecting, this 7" rolls on in good 'ol Frontkick style with everything that there's to it. Fantastic anthems with a lot of heart. The two new songs, "New Beginning" and "Serenade For Survivors", are in the same style as the tunes of their 2007 album "The Cause of the Rebel" (People Like You) which basically means quality. The band also do a great cover of Codigo Neurotico's "Revolucion". This one's in spanish and I haven't heard it before but I like it a lot. Frontkick is one of the few bands that I like even when they sing in languages I don't understand all that well. Not much more to say really, Frontkick's always cool and easily still one of the best punk rock bands in Europe. If you've heard them before you'll probably agree. If you haven't - give 'em a listen. They're also a great representation of Berlin and a good introduction to the city's cool punk-scene. / Christer Davidsson, MUTINYZINE.COM |
