Reviews | March 2008 | The Bristles "Union Bashing State"

If I'm not mistaking this used to be quite a respected band in Sweden back in the '80's. Personally I can hardly remembering listening to music back then at all so this the first time I give 'em a listen. "Union Bashing State" contains 4 cuts of raw and rough old school punk delivered with a ton of attitude despite the fact that these dudes are getting a bit old. Over all the Bristles are not my style but after playing this CD a few times I found myself liking one of the tracks a lot. It's called "Punishing the Victims" and is a real kick in the nuts of the current Swedish government. And Hey! I'm all for that! They even take it to the level where they call our "dear" prime-minister Führer Friedrich which is both hilarious and true. Extra points for that!
