The Insurgence "Never Surrender"7" Vinyl Release: October 21st, 2008 by: Basement Records Review: March 15th, 2009 The opening track of The Insurgence's 7" doesn't really impress me much. The base-drum is too loud and maybe it's just me but it's all I can think of. Anyway when it comes to track two it sounds like a different mix and the song is awesome. It's called "K-Street Killers" and reminds of a song from the Bronx's first album that I can't remember the name of but it had a really cool video of guy walking around in it. I loved that one and I like this one a lot. Now let's flip it over and see if it gets even better or worse... Sounds good. The Insurgence play fast punk with a hardcore touch to it, kinda like Unseen in a way. The closing track is more-down tempo in the verses and over all a bit boring. "K-Street Killers" is what makes this 7" good. My guess is I won't be listening to it a whole lot but it's not bad. Fans of Unseen could be potential fans of The Insurgence though. Nice multi-colored vinyl! / Christer Davidsson, MUTINYZINE.COM |
