ANNIHILATION TIME | "TALES OF THE ANCIENT AGE"

I really really dig this one! Blending the fury of Black Flag with riffs a la Thin Lizzy, this Oakland, CA outfit has created one of the coolest sounding records I've heard in a while. "Tales of the Ancient Age" is pretty much a full-throttle experience from start to finish. So, prepare yourselves for about half an hour of insane riffs, shredding guitar-solos and extreme energy. Both musically and lyrically Annihilation Time's new record is a punch in the face of mainstream music and the mainstream nature of things in general.
I guess my favorite two songs off of the record are "Jonestown", a 1,5 minute outburst which is the most basic punk song out of the ten tracks, as well as "About To Snap" which shows that these guys walk the talk in terms of rock'n'roll guitar slingin'.
The LP comes in a gatefold-sleeve and is on colored vinyl.
