THE BANNER | "FRAILTY"
CD | Ferret Music Reviewed: May 20th, 2008 The Banner's back! Basically all I can say is holy shit... This is some of the hardest stuff I've heard in quite some time. This is unarguably one of the best rough bands of today and even though I'm not the biggest fan of rough hardcore I am a huge fan of The Banner. The dark lyrical themes and the full-speed-ahead outbursts, which has become the trademark of this New Jeresy band, are more present than ever on this new longplayer. Sure, it's rough, but The Banner should not be considered a tough-guy band. That's not what these guys are about. If I were to describe these guys's sound I'd rather drop names like The Hope Conspiracy, From Ashes Rise and maybe Ringworm. Basically awesome stuff. Just give it a listen and you'll know. This album will knock you off your feet for sure. The intro of the record entitled "Welcome Fuckers" is a roots-blues song which builds up the tension in a cool way and then before you know it - it's on. 11 songs, all good as hell, completes "Frailty" and then all you gotta do is take a short rest, to catch your breath, and then play it again. Doomsday hardcore at its very finest.
