Once again Chip Hanna has teamed up with his friends the Berlin Three to make some damn good music. The new 14-song album "Old South Jamboree" consists of all originals except for the U.S. Bombs classic "Beetle Boot". I've always loved Chippy's stuff wheter it's been punk rock, bluegrass or country and this record is no exception. These guys sure know what they're doing.
The Berlin Three, consisting of members from Mad Sin, gives the music a haunting vibe and the psycho/rockabilly parts of the album are awesome, even though I normally hate that stuff. I do however, like the more classic country tunes the most and I really believe that it's the sort of music that fits Chip the best. But, the most important thing is that Chip does what he loves and believe in, which really shows on this record. A lot of heart and passion was put into "Old South Jamboree" and that passion really shines through. My favorite songs off of this album must be the sligthly surf-sounding "Interstate 10" and the honky tonk tune "Jesus Ain't Gone" which got that awesome retro sound to it.
Basically this is another record you'll need in your Chip Hanna collection. Don't even think about it, just go pick it up.
